I've been hearing commercials all week long for Lobster Fest @ Red Lobster!!So I told Rick, man I really want some Lobster Tail, he surprisingly said "LET'S GO!"
So we did! This is a photo of our to go bag!!
Until next time ...
The last few weeks I was in Texas, Madison's hair seemed to be thinning from her ears forward. Rick asked her about it ans she admitted to pulling it out, she'd been twirling it into knots when she was laying bed. Instead of brushing out the knots, she'd pull them out. Rick took her to the Dr, the morning before the appointment, he found a HUGE WAD of hair under her bed. The Dr said it must be from the stress of me being gone so much.
So we figured it would stop once I got home. Well it hasn't!! When I got home, she still had enough long hair on the sides, that we could "hide" the balding. Well she has managed to pull out all the long hair on both sides of her head, some of her bangs etc .... I decided to trim her bangs or what's left of them, since they were starting to hang in her eyes and she kept pushing them to the side, making the baldness really stand out.
So I took a picture to text to her Dad at work, so he could see ... it looks a little better, more like a "Bad Hair Cut" rather than patchy thin baldness.
I have her in counciling @ school, but we can't seem to figure out just "Why", she does this. She has said because I was gone & because she has nothing else to do. I need to take her back to the Dr if she keeps on. When she gets nervous or anxious, she does go straight for her hair and she will fiddle with it, twirl it while she is "feeling" that way. But I've never seen her rip her hair out!!
My poor Baby!
There is an actual diagnoisis for this:Another misunderstood cause of trauma hair loss is called trichotillomania the habit of twirling or plucking the hair. Trichotillomania is thought to be an obsessive-compulsive disorder that can be extremely difficult to treat since the patient usually feels compelled to pluck their hair. The hair loss is patchy, and characterized by broken hairs of varying length. Within the patches, hair loss is not complete. (Some children with trichotillomania also have trichophagy -- the habit of eating the hair they pluck. They develop abdominal masses consisting of balls of undigested hair.) As long as the hair trauma was not severe or chronic enough to cause scarring, the hair will re-grow when the trauma is stopped.
I'm just hoping this is a phase and she stops!!
Until next time ...
Here's a photo my husband took .... I'm using his because everytime I noticed the birders at the feeders, I'd grab my camera, get to the window, get a focus ... they'd fly off!!!
It counts right? LOL
So here's a little bird using one of the Bird feeders we made at Daisy Girl Scouts.
Until Next time ...
Here are my new frogs!! I usually go for the more cutsie - whimsical type frogs / toads, but these little pot hangers were too cute to pass up ... especially since they were on sale!!!
We got 3, one for each of our blue pots outside ... so we are preparing our yard for spring. I can't wait to see them with some growth in these pots ... They will be even cuter!!!
Until next time ....
Here's another project I did with my Daisy Girl Scout Troop.
We just finished up doing a service project for 'Harvest for the Hungry', where I'm proud to say my girls collected 193 lbs of food to be donated to a local food pantry!! Great, huh?
So, since we were talking about people being hungry the last few weeks, I thought it'd be a good idea to talk about the wild animals and how it maybe hard for them to get food in the winter time etc .... and So we made these Milk Jug Bird Feeders for our Feathered Friends ... and well, the gray furry ones too!!
My neighbor Phyllis, actually snapped a picture of a squirrel with his head all the way in the feeder! They haven't bothered with mine ... guess because mine is hanging from a pole, not a tree and too hard to get too ... I know I say that now! LOL
Rick (my Husband) says they look 'Ghetto'! But I think they are kinda cute! They need some better decorating ....
Until next time .....
My neighbor is getting her front yard already for spring!! She pulled her little bench out and got her the cutest little hummingbird feeder!!
I thought it was cute, so I got a picture!!
Until Next Time ....
What are we thinking??? Just a few days ago, our baby had a bike wreck and we go out and get her something with 8 wheels instead of 2??
Rick told her she had to skate in the house, until she got the hang of them. LOL How many kids wish they could skate in their house?
Well she's doing pretty good! I swear she come in from school and puts them on like they were a pair of slippers!! I even caught this 'lil dare devil trying to go UP THE STAIRS with the darn things on!!!
Oh, these aren't just any old skates either ... they are Hannah Montana Skates!!
How cool, eh?
Until next time ...
